MACPARA - HOUSTON

New

The unique design of Houston generates asymmetrical air flow of the convex sides of the canopy, thereby receiving an ascending forced optimised profile. This results to a horizontal speed after opening which creates a lift and significantly improves the sink rate.

INFORMATION FROM MANUFACTURER WEBSITE

The pilot can steer the parachute through the system of handles and can avoid potential obstacles during the descent. An emergency landing field can be precisely approached with a glide ratio of app. 1:1,5.

Without use of the steering handles the rescue works like any other classic rescue parachute. There are no disadvantages for the HOUSTON compared with conventional square shape canopies. The rescue system HOUSTON opens and works without pre-braking and therefore the system remains very easy to handle and is reliable.

The packing of the HOUSTON is not more time-consuming or more complex than for a normal square shape canopy.

HOUSTON 160 is suitable for heavier powered pilots. Max. load 160 kg by sink rate 4,8 m/s.

  • Rapid inflation
  • High stability
  • Low weight
  • Low sink rate
  • Steerable but working well as non steerable
